11.21.05: this face

Zackcloseup_tp

look at this face and those eyes.  he's one of my two very favorite subjects to photograph, (the other is his twin sister).  he is a photogenic little ham.  he'll give you just the pose your asking for, or the goofiest grin imaginable.  he'll be four in three weeks and i know that these cooperative photo ops will become few and far between as he gets older.  so, before the last of those baby cheeks fade away and while he's still keen to flutter his lashes for me,  i'll take every opportunity i can get to capture the youth, the sweetness and the innocence of this little face.

11.18.05: the quotable cup

Coffeecupquote_tp

a good cup of coffee, (skinny vanilla latte, actually), and a little wisdom to go.

"all humans realize they are loved when witnessing the dawn: early morning is the triumph of good over evil.  Absolved by light we decide to go on."  -Rufus Wainwright

as the days grow shorter and the light fades a bit more each day, this quote rang true.  it's a blessing to wake up each morning to glimpse the sun rising.  a symbol of life and energy - the dawn of a new day.

11.17.05: soup's on!

Soupmenu_tp_1

one of the good things about the temperatures dropping is a return of my favorite cafe's selection of hot, homemade soups.  the perfect comfort food on a cold day.  don't they sound good?

11.16.05: techno chick

Ipod_tp

i grew up with a computer.  i was programming when i was in the 6th grade, (in 1986 if you must know).  i come my my love of technology honestly.  i have a pda, two digital cameras, a home computer, a wacom tablet, a dvd player and this...my iPod.  love this thing.  my traveling companion.  the beat that pushes me harder while jogging.  consolidation of 15 years of cd's.  the love of music in the palm of my hand.

(i do not like how this pic turned out - i'll be trying again in natural light and will probabaly replace it.  i had difficulty getting it to look decent even in ps.  any suggestions?)

11.15.05: a girl's got have shoes

Pinkshoes_tp

tell me these shoes are not gorgeous.  the perfect, girly pink shoes that called out to me and demanded to be tried on.  the shoes that, once on my feet, were determined never to be placed back on a store shelf.  so, i had to obey.  these are the shoes to force me to stand straighter, to walk with confidence and to feel very attractive and stylish.  doesn't every girl deserve this pair of shoes?

(a little photo shoot set up on my studio desk under ott-lights. i think i'll iron the crease out of the backdrop next time - or clone it out in ps!)

11.14.05: thank you mr. postman

Dtbox_tp

just a small sampling of the design team box that arrived today!  i could not wait to get my hands on all of this new paper and the yummy embellishments.  i normally don't scrap much during the week - but with the arrival of this box?  three layouts done already!

11.12 thru 11.13.05: party all the time

Mardigras

one simple shot from my weekend scrapbook retreat that about sums it up.  what a party!  three full days of nothing but scrapbooking, good food and catching up with friends. it's so energizing to be in a creative atmosphere.  the only problem?  it needed to last a full week!

11.11.05: fashion forward

Scraptees

a little experiment.  i was up way too late packing for my scrap retreat this weekend and had a brainstorm.  i'd brought home a couple of baby tees and packages of iron on transfers from the craft store a while back and never did anything with them.  but, as is normal for me, a stroke of inspiration hit in the very early hours this morning.  within minutes my iron was heating, i found a pair of scissors, (that had not been tucked away in one of my bags), and started cutting out letters.  twenty minutes later these tees were the result.  voila!  my uniform for the weekend!  maybe the themed, handmade attire will help my scrapping productivity?  here's hoping...

(i'll be taking my photos every day over the weekend, but won't be able to upload until sunday - so have a wonderful weekend everyone!)
